Addiction:Taiwanese Drama !

Yup, I still haven't grown out of this phase yet, I am still hooked and addicted to TAIWANESE DRAMA. I think maybe my 1/4 Chinese blood is taking over and that's why I am so addicted. Or maybe because I've always been a sucker for Asians, that could be a reason. I was really into Chinese Kung Fu movies before and I would stay up late watching different movies and I was into some Korean movies as well, but since I was introduced to "TWDRAMA" I was sold. Yea, I know some people might say, "but it's Taiwan. what's there?" Well, I like the fact for one they speak Chinese to while I watch I learn Chinese little by little, I already know a few commonly used words after watching, 'DEVIL BESIDE YOU' and I know some of the slang they use like for example, when young couples say, "let's make fried rice" it's their own talk for "let's make-out". Yup ! Which brings me to my next point why I also like watching it, because you learn part of their culture and how their lifestyle is there and maybe one day if I ever go to Taipei, Taiwan I won't be such a lost person and learn and use it. So far I have finished 'DEVIL BESIDE YOU' and 'WHY WHY LOVE' and I loved them both especially 'WHY WHY LOVE'. They both star my favorite Taiwanese on-screen couple, RAINIE YANG and MIKE HE ! I have a little bit of an Asian thing/fetish if you want to call it that and I absolutely love MIKE HE. I am currently watching one of his earlier series 'LOVE CONTRACT' and so far I'm liking it, but the only downfall is RAINIE YANG isn't his love partner in this series, but I liked the synopsis and storyline I decided to watch the whole series.

If you would like to know a brief history of TWDrama then I'll be glad you share it with you so you get a sense of what I'm going crazy about.
Believe it or not TWDramas are most popular in Japan;China;Philippines. TWDramas are mostly produced and spoken in Standard Mandarin(because we all know that Chinese have different dialects just like Filipinos). For all you cheeseballs out there, TWDramas focus more on Romance and have its kissing scenes, but not too much nudity and sex showing scenes so it's pretty much PG-13.
Storylines include:
- 1 or 2 characters who have a dark difficult secret past which makes it harder for them to love.
- Love Triangles, usually in the beginning you'll see couples who have crushes on each other then later they all fall in love with different characters, but don't worry it will all make sense.
- Usually poor girl-rich boy or rich girl-poor boy vise versa,
- It may be the male or female lead's first time dating which makes for good storyline.
- Most if not all leading characters are usually in their late teens or 20's which is probably why I can be categorized as part of their audience.
TWDramas are also based on Japanese Manga and just change the storyline a little bit to make it more Chinese/Taiwan culture like than Japanese. Also another notable thing I like about TWDramas is that the leads are usually the total package in which they can sing and dance too besides acting. My favorite Taiwanese singer is RAINIE YANG because she sings most of the songs on her series. So if you would like to be a Taiwanese star you must have the total package while being cute. ^-^

A list of popular TWDramas that I will hopefully finish watching all of them by the end of the year:

Fuji at Home !

This entry is long overdue, but this is another sharing of my entry "Wifey Duties", I honestly feel like 'Julie and Julia' because my past few entries and there will be more to come are all about food. Like I said, I'm trying to experiment and cook different foods that Erwin and I love to eat so that I can cook for him and be an expert "mom chef". You know those kids who argue or defend their mom's cooking and says, "my mom makes it better" or when they come home from school they're so excited to eat what mom has cooked for them. Well, I want to be that type of mom where if there were 5 noodle soups in front of my child then just by tasting they would know which one I made. XD That is what I look forward to in the future when I have a family of my own. A few days ago while Erwin and I were eating a late lunch at 'Fuji Ichiban' I wondered how the karage chicken was so crispy and i know that's not all skin around it so when I got home I decided to ask my best friend, 'GOOGLE' and I received my answer. CORN STARCH ! Really?!? So I attempted to fry some along with Fried Rice to get the whole Fuji Restaurant feeling. No, it didn't taste as delicious as Chahan, but it was my own and yummy. I think I ate my fried rice more than the chicken. Since it was my first time I ended up burning some of the chicken and I think I soaked in the soy sauce and garlic too long and it tasted a bit too salty. When I had asked Erwin's opinion he said he liked it as usual, but I wanted honesty and he just kept insisting it was good. Maybe it was just me. I am my worst critic. It's funny too because we ended up eating lunch at Fuji the next day. hahaha ! But, I still have time to perfect this recipe, but for now it will just be regular fried chicken. Yum ! ^-^

Karage Chicken and Spam Fried Rice ! This takes my love for rice to a whole new level ! I finished 1 big bowl of this baby !
