OOTD: First Day of School !

This will be one of the many OUTFIT OF THEDAY (OOTD) blogs I'll be posting. The rest of my OOTD posts will be posted on my other blog and to view it just go to my complete profile and it will show my other blog title and click on it. So I decided since a new semester is starting I'll start with my first OOTD which I hope you will enjoy. I am a really simple kind of girl especially when it comes to school. You'd be surprised how some girls dress at school. Female students should know the difference between trashy and classy. Also, since it is the first day you should make a good impression and first impressions are always the ones people remember. Remember usually on first days there will be introductions and you will be in front of the class so don't wear dramatic or too much make-up. It is school not a night club so keep that in mind. I did a video my youtube account on a simple make-up routine for school that is very close to natural. ^-^

OOTD: First Day of School !
I wore a pair of comfortable jeans because I get nervous on first days so a nice pair of comfortable jeans will make me feel like myself. I work a dark gray racer back tank top for when it gets hot and I matched it with my light gray cardigan that was made with thin material so it doesn't get too hot, but still good enough to warm me up when it gets too cold. I paired my outfit with a nice LeSportsac messenger bag that was big enough to fit the necessities I needed such as pens, wallet, lip gloss, school id, a small notebook, and a folder. I also wore for my footwear a pair of comfy black gladiator sandals since I knew I would be walking upstairs and downstairs back and forth to my classrooms.

Sorry I didn't get to take a picture of my full outfit, I will do it for the rest of my blogs and videos on you tube as well.

School is in Session !

IT'S BACK TO SCHOOL AGAIN ! Summer has left and Fall has now arrived. What is there to do??? Well, one main thing happens which some look forward to while others dread the thought. I'm talking about school ! I am one of the few "nerdy" ones who loves it and can't wait. Especially since this past summer was the first time I didn't take summer classes. So for two months I wished I was in school and I am being completely honest. Also the thought of being behind was why I was so anxious to go back. This school year or semester as it's called when you're in college is different for me because I am attending a new school. I transferred over from the University of Guam to the Guam Community College. I have my reasons of transferring, but there are too many. Don't get me wrong UOG is great, but I needed a change of environment and a more hands on approach to learning which they offer at GCC. I am ready than ever this semester to get straight A's. I even worked hard on one of my first assignments for my first class. I am also very organized and I love it. I'll keep you updated on what new challenges I might have to face for the rest of the semester. ^-^

What part of my bed looks like after school...I'll post a "What's in your school bag?" blog soon.

My name plate for my Sociology class, it may look like I went a little overboard, but since I am an Education major as well I thought why not show it with my creativity since we are in college. Is hearts and tagging all over your name card for class a good representation of a college student? You tell me.

Addiction:Taiwanese Drama !

Yup, I still haven't grown out of this phase yet, I am still hooked and addicted to TAIWANESE DRAMA. I think maybe my 1/4 Chinese blood is taking over and that's why I am so addicted. Or maybe because I've always been a sucker for Asians, that could be a reason. I was really into Chinese Kung Fu movies before and I would stay up late watching different movies and I was into some Korean movies as well, but since I was introduced to "TWDRAMA" I was sold. Yea, I know some people might say, "but it's Taiwan. what's there?" Well, I like the fact for one they speak Chinese to while I watch I learn Chinese little by little, I already know a few commonly used words after watching, 'DEVIL BESIDE YOU' and I know some of the slang they use like for example, when young couples say, "let's make fried rice" it's their own talk for "let's make-out". Yup ! Which brings me to my next point why I also like watching it, because you learn part of their culture and how their lifestyle is there and maybe one day if I ever go to Taipei, Taiwan I won't be such a lost person and learn and use it. So far I have finished 'DEVIL BESIDE YOU' and 'WHY WHY LOVE' and I loved them both especially 'WHY WHY LOVE'. They both star my favorite Taiwanese on-screen couple, RAINIE YANG and MIKE HE ! I have a little bit of an Asian thing/fetish if you want to call it that and I absolutely love MIKE HE. I am currently watching one of his earlier series 'LOVE CONTRACT' and so far I'm liking it, but the only downfall is RAINIE YANG isn't his love partner in this series, but I liked the synopsis and storyline I decided to watch the whole series.

If you would like to know a brief history of TWDrama then I'll be glad you share it with you so you get a sense of what I'm going crazy about.
Believe it or not TWDramas are most popular in Japan;China;Philippines. TWDramas are mostly produced and spoken in Standard Mandarin(because we all know that Chinese have different dialects just like Filipinos). For all you cheeseballs out there, TWDramas focus more on Romance and have its kissing scenes, but not too much nudity and sex showing scenes so it's pretty much PG-13.
Storylines include:
- 1 or 2 characters who have a dark difficult secret past which makes it harder for them to love.
- Love Triangles, usually in the beginning you'll see couples who have crushes on each other then later they all fall in love with different characters, but don't worry it will all make sense.
- Usually poor girl-rich boy or rich girl-poor boy vise versa,
- It may be the male or female lead's first time dating which makes for good storyline.
- Most if not all leading characters are usually in their late teens or 20's which is probably why I can be categorized as part of their audience.
TWDramas are also based on Japanese Manga and just change the storyline a little bit to make it more Chinese/Taiwan culture like than Japanese. Also another notable thing I like about TWDramas is that the leads are usually the total package in which they can sing and dance too besides acting. My favorite Taiwanese singer is RAINIE YANG because she sings most of the songs on her series. So if you would like to be a Taiwanese star you must have the total package while being cute. ^-^

A list of popular TWDramas that I will hopefully finish watching all of them by the end of the year:

Fuji at Home !

This entry is long overdue, but this is another sharing of my entry "Wifey Duties", I honestly feel like 'Julie and Julia' because my past few entries and there will be more to come are all about food. Like I said, I'm trying to experiment and cook different foods that Erwin and I love to eat so that I can cook for him and be an expert "mom chef". You know those kids who argue or defend their mom's cooking and says, "my mom makes it better" or when they come home from school they're so excited to eat what mom has cooked for them. Well, I want to be that type of mom where if there were 5 noodle soups in front of my child then just by tasting they would know which one I made. XD That is what I look forward to in the future when I have a family of my own. A few days ago while Erwin and I were eating a late lunch at 'Fuji Ichiban' I wondered how the karage chicken was so crispy and i know that's not all skin around it so when I got home I decided to ask my best friend, 'GOOGLE' and I received my answer. CORN STARCH ! Really?!? So I attempted to fry some along with Fried Rice to get the whole Fuji Restaurant feeling. No, it didn't taste as delicious as Chahan, but it was my own and yummy. I think I ate my fried rice more than the chicken. Since it was my first time I ended up burning some of the chicken and I think I soaked in the soy sauce and garlic too long and it tasted a bit too salty. When I had asked Erwin's opinion he said he liked it as usual, but I wanted honesty and he just kept insisting it was good. Maybe it was just me. I am my worst critic. It's funny too because we ended up eating lunch at Fuji the next day. hahaha ! But, I still have time to perfect this recipe, but for now it will just be regular fried chicken. Yum ! ^-^

Karage Chicken and Spam Fried Rice ! This takes my love for rice to a whole new level ! I finished 1 big bowl of this baby !

Dinner Time !

BAKED MUSSELS ! Yup, I finally attempted to make them. I wanted it to be JAPANESE/ASIAN style like they have at your local Sushi restaurant so I did none other than ask my wonderful friend "GOOGLE" ! The first site on the list was a recipe for "DYNAMITE SAUCE" and I was expecting it to be hard to conjure, but it was rather easy. I know you can't taste it through my blog, but you can imagine its deliciousness at the tip of your tongue because Erwin liked it so much he couldn't stop. I can't wait to make it again when my MAMA&PAPA come back from vacation. This totally beats spending $4 a plate for just 2-3 pieces at most Sushi bars. ^-^

INGREDIENTS:
- BOX/PACKAGE OF MUSSELS ; KEWPIE MAYO ; SRIRACHA HOT CHILI SAUCE ; SMELT ROE(SEAWEED is another alternative) ; GREEN ONIONS

I am interested in new recipes and ingredients for Baked Mussels so let me know. Please&Thank You !
.

I've been trying to cook as many Asian foods and recipes lately because its what Erwin and I love to eat all types of Asian foods the most and we're FILIPINO ASIANS so it fits us. I am also trying to learn as many recipes as I can being that I will be a wife this time next year and a year after probably not staying here on Guam and it will just be Erwin and I on our own wherever the future takes us. While walking through the PAY-LESS SUPERMARKET aisles grocery shopping I told Erwin, "wouldn't that suck wherever we move and there is NO ASIAN store around or if it was like 3 hours away". Oh no ! Please don't let that happen...I would suffer and die ! Ok, not really, but that wouldn't be so nice if I really wanted tempura or MAMA SITA's marinade for my BBQ. =( We will just have to wait and see where and when this adventure will take us. I'm excited ! This is another day in the life of a LALALALILI !

Wifey Duties !

Today, July 21 is Liberation Day here on this beautiful island of Guam. We celebrate by having a big parade at our island's capital and fireworks follow at night. It's a huge amazing event for Guam and its local people. It gets pretty crowded and there is major traffic heading to that part of the island so luckily they show it live on one of our local channels. So, Erwin and I decided to stay home and do some chores(technically ME) and just enjoy the parade live on television. While my parents are off-island it's only me taking care of the house with the help of my fiance' Erwin. Instead of calling it chores, I like to call it "wifey duties". I call it this because Erwin decided to wake me up with these words, "I'm Hungry". Are you seriously kidding me??? I better get used to that since in less than a year I'll really become a wife.
1. Walked and Fed my mom's dog, Jera.
2. Swept the floors.
3. Took out all the trash/garbage all over the house.

4. Cooked a delicious meal.
(all without Erwin's help, but he did wash the dishes because I slaved over a hot stove)

Guess what I cooked???
VEGGIE TEMPURA & CHICKEN CUTLET

My Result and Delicious Meal all prepared by ME !
1

It may not look restaurant style, but it beats paying double for it when I can cook it myself and it can still taste as good if not better. The fact is I prepared a meal(this is not my 1st meal), but for some reason I feel proud more and more every time I cook. I guess because I put more and more effort into my meals instead of something so simple all the time like frying eggs or spam or cooking Ichiban. Those things to me don't count as a homemade cooked meal. I am proud of things I can cook/make without my Mama and Papa always being there. ^-^
I've Cooked:
1. Pancit
2. Pasta
3. Breaded/Baked Chicken
4. Salmon Specialty
5. Seasoned Tuna w/ Lemon
6. Tempura
7. Chicken Cutlet
8. Gyoza
9. Fried Wonton
10. Lumpia
11. Eggplant kon Lechen Niyok
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I COOK??? ANY SUGGESTIONS???

'Devil Beside You'

I just came back to Guam from my motherland of the Philippines 2 days ago and while I was there I bonded and grew closer to my nieces and cousins on my Papa's side(ANTOLIN). They influenced me and make me get back into the ANIME and ASIAN series/tv shows. I finally was able to watch 'MY SASSY GIRL' in the original Korean version which was way better than the English version. I'm also getting the hand of KPOP and i think DBSK is hot ! All of these things made me have some sense or urge to get back into reading MANGA. In high school I was so into it, I even still have my 'CHOBITS' poster hanging on my door. I also remember enjoying reading 'LOVE HINA' and being there made me wonder why I ever stopped. ANIME and the ASIAN CULTURE will be a part of my life no matter what, it's what I grew up around. Hmm...should I start getting back into MANGA reading?!? I wish I had enough time to read those things. While in the Philippines I also watched and am now currently addicted to a Taiwanese drama, 'DEVIL BESIDE YOU' ! This was an adaptation of a Japanese Manga series by Mitsuba Takanashi originally titled, 'Akuma de Sourou' in English translated into: 'The Devil Does Exist'. It's not bad or scary, it's just the title. Trust me at first I was shocked to hear that title, but after watching the first episode now I understand. This is my current summer addiction and I hope to finish watching the series before summer ends and start watching a new series after that. It is a must watch and not to mention some good looking Asians star in it too.

Rainie Yang and Mike He make the cutest couple ! ^-^

"When you're in love, you don't ever want to sleep because reality is better than your dreams"--Dr. Seuss ! I decided to make another blog...more of and "everyday" blog where I can express my thoughts and feelings at that moment. My first entry for this blog page is a special one because its dedicated to my wonderful fiance' ERWIN DE CASTRO AQUINO ! He still gives me butterflies whenever he's near and makes me feel special every single day. He is my perfect match although we are not a perfect couple we understand and love each other unconditionally. He is really my ROCK and helps;encourages;motivates;loves me every day I'm with him. There are times when we don't agree and misunderstand each other, but we get over it and don't hold grudges. We love each other more after that and I am THANKFUL and BLESSED to have him in my life and I can get my wish of being with him forever because we are getting married. As of today we are 306 days away till our wedding date. I am also very excited and anxious for that day to come because it will be my dream wedding day. I am GRATEFUL and again very BLESSED that Erwin is making my dreams and wishes come true, by giving me my dream wedding. OLIVE JUICE E !

est: 08 December 2007
engaged: 27 June 2009

Since the day we made it official on 12.08.07 we've been together for 2 years and 7 months and we were only engaged 1 year and 6 months later...To some this may be considered short and it may come of as a shock, but I believe that true love doesn't matter on the length of years or months you've been with a person, but the quality of the time you spend with that person. Erwin and I have both come across a lot of obstacles and challenges in our relationship since the beginning and more challenges we had to face after being engaged. We overcame all of them together. I like to joke and tease that I never had drama till I met him, which is mostly true, but it just shows how strong I am as a person to deal with it all. Like the saying goes, "if you don't have haters then you're not doing something right"...I actually agree with this because people will dislike you for the littlest of all things which is quite silly. I always try to confide in Erwin because he is the only person besides my MAMA who knows me 100%. Erwin tells me it's just "jealousy" and people are just jealous that we are getting married and have only been together a short amount of time. I honestly don't think that is a valid reason to hate/dislike someone especially us. Marriage is not a race, this is not a race who gets married first or goes to the altar first, its about the joining of a union and bond between 2 individuals who love and care deeply for one another. I always thought people were supposed to be happy when someone gets married, but nowadays it seems like a race. It just so happens Erwin and I are READY to make this COMMITMENT and want to start our lives together. We would like a nice traditional Catholic Church Wedding because our FAITH is very strong and helped us grow closer together. I've always wanted a nice party/reception where my guests can enjoy and relax, an event where they can be treated special and feel comfortable and I am happy Erwin is giving me that. Right after Erwin made it official and gave me an engagement ring we already set a date because we were serious about getting married. It wasn't a "promise" ring, but an engagement ring so we can make it official. A ring at first was nice and I really do love my ring, but now that I think about it...I really don't need a ring because he is all I need. All that matters is me and him together loving each other.

LOVE does EXIST ! ^-^
